Onchocerciasis
Onchocerciasis, also known as river blindness, is a parasitic disease caused by the filarial worm Onchocerca volvulus, transmitted through the bite of infected blackflies. It is prevalent in Nigeria, particularly near rivers, leading to severe skin and eye complications that can result in permanent blindness if not treated promptly.

Prevention

- Use insect repellents and wear protective clothing

Treatment
